Study Abroad Day 3: School, Las Ramblas and Harley Davidson

Today started off with an early wakeup call and heading off to class. We were on campus until around noon and then took the bus back to the hotel. We decided to go get a SIM card for our phone and to go buy some more clothes because our luggage was still missing. When we were in the phone store we saw this, breaking bad is everywhere:

After that we met up with Sam and decided to go explore Las Ramblas! Prepare yourself for TONS of pictures. Here we go:

First of all we had a conversation on the metro and were wondering what would be different about McDonalds in Spain and everywhere we go. As soon as we walked off of the metro we saw a sign for McDonalds and immediately went in. There were kiosks where you ordered from then picked up your order at the counter. I only got one picture because the lady yelled at me for having my camera out. Yes thats a chicken big mac.

We wandered around and found a cool plaza and decided to take a photo in front of a fountain there!

Next we walked down to Mercado de la Boqueria, this was a beautiful market filled with stunning food of all kinds. I wish we had access to this kind of produce in the states!

The entrance to the market:
Fish and shrimp at the market:
 Candied fruit and nuts:

 Chocolate hedgehogs:
 Creative candies:
Juices (which sam and i loved) and ready to eat fruit:

Then we just wandered around Las Ramblas and explored little side streets and anything we could find!

After exploring Las Ramblas we headed back towards the hotel. We decided to eat dinner on top of the mall again. We got a good picture of our hotel while on the way:

After dinner we went to a Harley Davidson convention that was happening across the square from our hotel. It was crowded and full of people but we got to see this fountain up close and it was beautiful. They play music and the water is "choreographed" to the music.

We got back to the hotel and our luggage had arrived we were so excited! We dropped our luggage in the room and went to see what the pool was like at night. There is a bar by the pool which was not too crowded. The pool is bright with colored lights that shift colors and people are just sitting or standing around conversing.

After exploring the pool we decided to go back and take showers and put on clean clothes. It feels heavenly to have clean pajamas on in my warm bed right now. Its time for sleep at 2 AM!
