Study Abroad Day 21: Laundry, Nasty Restaurant and Power Outages

We awoke in Rome, crawled out of bed, and fumbled downstairs to breakfast and class. We were up until midnight been goofy and talking. Sam is now our roommate so it takes us forever to actually fall asleep! We gathered all of our dirty clothes and went for another laundry adventure! After we got all the clothes loaded in the washers Sam and Cal went to grab lunch and I stayed to keep watch over our clothes. 

About 40 minutes later the two of them ran back into the laundry mat screaming "OH MY GOSH MORGAN!!!" I had no idea what happened but they were freaking out, Cal just looked at me almost crying and said look at Sam's phone:

Yes that is a maggot in the risotto. Cal continued to freak out for most of the day and I have to say it was definitely justified. We will be more observant of our food before we eat it.

Next it was time to take our laundry back to the hotel and put away our clothes. We walked up to the translation after organizing our room to look around and see what was going on. It turned out that the electricity in the station had gone out and we couldn't buy a Italian sim card or some clothes from the Nike Factory Store. A bunch of the merchandise at Nike was half off so I have a feeling we will be heading back there before our time in Rome is over! 

By the time we got back from the train station it was already 8pm so we decided to just eat near the hotel and come back to try and get to sleep early. Cal got a cappuccino and omelette (which according to her was not photo worthy). Sam ordered tortellini with bolognese filling (Yummmm). I got an arrabbiata pizza. I've got to hand the best ordering award to Sam, the Pasta looked amazing:

We got back to the hotel, showered and hung out on the internet until we decided it was time for bed.

We are going to do some more Roman touristy stuff tomorrow so hopefully the blogposts will get more interesting again! Thanks for following along with our european adventure, even when its a bit boring!
