Sam and I decided to go on a hike up to a waterfall that was fairly close to the hotel. We headed out and by the time we were ten minutes in I was having a hard time. Either I've lost all of the progress I made getting fit at home or the humidity and altitude were effecting me. I had to stop a few times but thats not so bad when this is what you're looking at:
We finally arrived at the waterfall and walked right up to the base of it. There was a group of Australian and British people also hanging out there with their dog. They talked to us a little bit and we both took turns getting soaked right next to the waterfall. The water was freezing cold because it's melted right off of the glacier; we were both feeling rejuvenated and happy:
We sat around, soaked up some sun and Sam made a new friend:
After hanging out we took a few last picture of the area and rambled back down the mountain.
Take a look at the top right and bottom left photos. One of the Australian guys climbed across the river and up onto the rocks on the other side. He did a headstand and built a few rock towers, you can see them if you look closely:
We got back to the hotel and Cal had left to walk around Chamonix a little bit. Sam and I went town to the Spa and Pool area. There were 5 different rooms that you could sit in as well as a pool and 'warm' tub. Cal joined us about an hour later and we did the full experience:
Starting bottom left to top right: 1. Sauna 2. eucalyptus steam room 3. Cold water submersion pool
4. Ice room 5. 100% humidity steam room
After a few hours at the Spa we all showered and went for our last dinner in France. Cal got an omelette, Sam got a savory crepe and I got pasta. We all decided to go for it and got dessert! Sam and I got dessert crepes and Cal got a creme brûlée.
My last crepe in France:
We went back to the hotel and packed, chilled out and went to bed. We had a 6 am wakeup time in the morning so off to bed for all of us!
